IT'S THE (SAME) BEAT

This Simian Mobile Disco remix thing is out of control. They keep re-releasing the same singles with new remixes (we could possibly call it Chromeo syndrome), and I would totally mind except they keep picking my favorite producers and DJs, to the point where it's getting ridiculous. A remix album sounds like too much, but check the people they lined up for it... from Shit Robot's MySpace:
Subject: simian mobile disco shit robot remix
hey, new simian mobile disco "it's the beat" shit robot remix posted in my player if you care?
should be released next month on simian's adsr remix album with more remixes by silver apples, beyond the wizards sleeve, invisible conga people, joakim, danton eeprom, simon baker, cosmo vitelli etc.
!
enjoy,
shitbot.

RELISH THE THOUGHT
As predicted, Too Much Love last Saturday was the biggest, and possibly best, ever. I can't remember the last time I heard that much great music in one place. Plus there were LASERS and FREE HOT DOGS. It's going to be hard to top. 1,000 thanks to James F!@.$%^ Friedman, My Cousin Roy, Max Pask, and The Wiz for coming out. And look for TML to get bigger and better as spring and summer start to show up. Here are some photos from the whirlwind night:

Also check out photos from my partners in crime, the Moon Goons.

I still haven't done my spiel about why I think the Black Ghosts are such a great band, and deserve more than just blogged-out remixes. Oh well, maybe later.

DAILY LOL
The Daily Swarm has recently become one of my top places for music news. The ridiculous news items that just popped up in a row on the RSS feed are too crazy not to share. Only one of these is about an April Fool's joke:
