This is getting really old fast. To everyone I know screaming "OMG THE PIXIES AND MY BLOODY VALENTINE ARE REUNITING!", please shut the fuck up.
Pitchfork reported yesterday that the Pixies had been jamming every once in a while, which was, of course, old news (from Mike D). That they're playing together is a huge step forward, and it would be insane to see them perform. I mean, how often does your favoritest incredibly influential band from two decades ago tour? I'm sure if they did get play together again, it'd be pretty fresh. But the truth is, they have absolutely no offical plans to do so.
Then, keeping up with the late-80s early-90s awesome band theme, Pitchfork reported that My Bloody Valentine are working in the studio again, taken from, *ahem*, "secret sources." Whoop de fucking shit. My Bloody Valentine is finishing four old songs from an EP that I haven't even heard, let alone cared about, for a boxset. If they start talking about playing live again, then I'll get excited. Right now I'm too busy worrying about getting into shows of bands that matter NOW instead of making up stuff about bands that have already made their mark.
