5. Low - "Everybody's Song"
I have not heard that much Low, and since they're a favorite here in MPLS I sort of shied away from getting into them much. I heard their cover of "Transmission" not too long ago and almost gagged. This song is apparently a new direction for the band, and I really dig it. It's inescapable at the station. A hard, metallic sound, but you can still hear what I presume older Low to sound like coming through.
4. Kasabian - "Club Foot"
I think the best thing I've read about Kasabian is from here: "Kasabian is indisputably one of the most important albums... of 1997." I first heard this song when I saw the video on MTV2's Subterranean. It's a really bizarre clip, trying to really make some statement that I totally missed. Watch it here; it's worth a look. Distorted vocals are always good, and I'm a total sucker for big bass lines. I also listened to a lot of Primal Scream this week, so it kind of figures. I linked a live version for download that actually sounds good. The band introduces it as "this is why you [the audience] came."
3. Autolux - "Blanket"
This has recently become my favorite from the album Future Perfect, at least for now. It was the highlight of their live show, definitely. Fucking great song.
2. Snow Patrol - "Run"
I avoided this song when it came out. I hate Coldplay knock offs. The first time I heard it was when I flipped to MTV last week in the middle of the video. I thought to myself, "This sounds like Coldplay. But it's not. I bet it's that song by Snow Patrol." And it was. I downloaded it and couldn't stop listening to it. I don't really like the song. I hate the combination of his voice and his accent. It's "here", not "huuuer". But the chorus is so... mushy... and... gah I couldn't stop listening to it. The video I linked to doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's got a motorcycle. Motorcycles are cool, especially when they're on fire.
1. Black Mountain - "Modern Music"
I got way into this album last week. I first heard "Modern Music" when I had to play it on the radio. I wasn't impressed at first. But now I really dig the album. I can't really write very descriptively tonight. I'd apologize, but I'm not sorry. The album is very loosely a cross between the Rolling Stones and Can. I really suggest checking it out, especially the first track, "Modern Music", and the following "Don't Dance Our Hearts Around". Good fucking stuff. You can download "Druganaut" and "Heart Of Snow" from the Jagjaguwar site.

Kasabian don't get much respect from the music intelligentsia but their music is enjoyable to listen to. processed beats can be found here
