ANOTHER WOUND

Remember when I used to talk about actual MUSIC that I LIKED on here? Me neither. Lately, I don't even have time to listen to all the new great records I get my hands on. Right now I'm listening to the new Ponys album and digging it. Also liking records from The Howling Hex, RTX, and about a thousand other bands. More later, I guess. Here are a few small things:

Let It Be Records, of downtown Minneapolis, is closing for good.

Pitchfork review of Death From Above 1979 and Controller.Controller show. My review is coming soon. Anyone know anything about that Lee Marvin Computer Arm band? Sounds interesting.

Mediaeater is back and posting photos on his new Flickr account.

Feist in the NY Times.

i thought controller.controller were terrible, minus the drummer. they had no presence, their singer especially made me cringe, and they came off as another gang of 4 ripoff. oh yeah, the music sucked, too.
death from above 1979 on the other hand- speechless.

by the by- is tomorrow's m83 show at 9 or 10, i keep hearing different things...

Usually I'd just let this slide, but ERRRRRR wrong. Controller.Controller was as good, if not beter, than DFA1979. There's a lot more than gang of four in there.

I'm not going to the M83 show, so I can't help you out.

I'm seeing DFA1979 this week, and a band called Uncut is opening for them as well as Controller.Controller. I can't get my hands on any of Uncut's stuff, have you heard them?
