Too much going on! I'm not dead, I swear. Trips to Chicago and Madison, about 5 bajillion shows, including my own, countless music media whore articles, infinity gigabytes of photos and a new version of photoshop, a free iPod Shuffle, and plenty of rock and roll fun these past few weeks. I have shit to say. Just gimme some time, I need a little time.
EDIT: This can't wait. While I do not support the nefarious MP3-blogging tactics of Scenestars, as they border on giving entire albums away of already well-known artists, sometimes they're a good site to subscribe to. Download the new White Stripes single, "Blue Orchid". YES.

While I do not condone the use of cocaine, here is the number to my drug dealer. YES
MP3 blogs should be about getting unheard artists new exposure. Scenestars is like reading the music section on AOL or something, except it's not sanctioned by the artists or their management. I'm sure that NO ONE who reads blogs has EVER heard "Price of Gas", since it's such a deep cut from that new BLOC PARTY band.
that's what makes reading about Queens of the Stone Age so exciting on your blog. nobody's ever heard of them, and you should be applauded for promoting them. rofl shut up.
Why do you get to decide what mp3 blogs are about?
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one...
i should hope they do. i think a person might implode if he/she didn't, rachel.
and just as you implied, that's peter's OPINION. if he began censoring what he writes to appease the masses, well, he would become part of the corporate conglomerate and thereby a drone. what's the point in having a blog funded with one's own money, time, and energy if all he does is reguritate what everyone else says and wants while sugarcoating every thought he wishes to express? i don't know about you, but sugarcoated vomit don't sound too good to me.
I don't run an MP3 blog. I talk about music I like and media I consume, and I can talk about whatever-the-fuck I want. I don't give away the artist's work for free. Like, say, three tracks from the new New Order album. I decided to talk about QOTSA because I was seeing them that night. I didn't post any tracks from their major label album.
It's one thing to seek out music downloads on the internet to expose yourself to new work. But to just post a chunk of the album online, when MP3s from the same album are already circulating all over the internet, and the band is getting press in every magazine you pick up, is something else. If you look at the original MP3 blogs, that are considered the start of the movement and have something to say, you see unique posted tracks with insightful commentary. You look at Scenestars, you see tracks from bands you've already read about, the same boring post on how the writer should have discovered it earlier, and at least two or three songs for free from the album. I'm not saying what MP3 blogs HAVE to be about, I'm saying what I think they SHOULD be about, and that Scenestars is not a good example. Anyways, thanks for stealing the White Stripes track for me, it made my and my reader's hunt for it a little bit easier.

If you look at seperate but equal facilities, that is considered the start of the movement and have something to say, you see black people going from being slaves to having a seperate but equal facility to use. You look at integration, you see blacks from other areas being bussed into white areas, the same bus on which the whites should have choice of seat, and at least two or three blacks sitting up front for free on the bus. I'm not saying what seperate but equal HAS to be about, I'm saying what I think it SHOULD be about, and that integration of our schools is not a good example.
Old ways are the best ways after all, right? Thanks for linking to our website honey bunny. Nobody cares what you think or me either. Get over yourself.
People cared enough about what I think to come over here and try and defend the site. What it comes down to is that Scenestars is a truly awful website. Design, writing, content, all of it. I'm not going to argue this anymore.
the internerd is a serious place filled with serious people who seriously need to take their meds.
Is there a reason that the highly opinionated writer-of-comments(whose own strongest opinion appears to be that other folks shouldn't have opinions!) remains anonymous? Come forth, young writer, come forth.
how anyone could have the gall to post their own opinion on their own blog is beyond me...
peter you're the awesomest
You guys are hilarious. 1,2,3,4 let's start a thumb war. Bwahahahahaha CRITICS OF OTHER MP3 BLOGS UNITE! Critiquing other music critics is gayer than Elton John and George Michael arguing over a bottle of mascara.
OH I AM WOUNDED! OH PLEASE RESCUE ME FROM THE TORTURE OF INTERNET! I mean you might be right, but is it wicked not to care? I reiterate what was said earlier -- internet: serious place, serious people, serious business. Very serious. I clearly did not take you seriously and I am sorry. As of right now I am taking you seriously. All of you. Very seriously. Let's get serious. Ok? Seriously though...I am tot
