The White Stripes covering "Maps". Also, "Can't Stop Feeling", a Franz Ferdinand demo [via largehearted boy].
Prosaics have signed to Matador Records. Very impressive for a band who has been surviving on hype alone for over a year without recorded output (it'll be worth the wait). Matador will release a Prosaics full-length in 2005. Aghast Agape CDEP/12" will still come out on Dim Mak Records on October 12th.
Aerial Love Feed has become Rockethouse. Check out their site for show dates and sound clips.
The Fever is going on tour, first with The Faint and then co-headlining with VHS or Beta. Tour dates here.
Moving Units are also [finally] doing a national tour. They are one of my favorite live bands. Tour dates here.
Nonesuch Records is profiled in detail in the New York Times Magazine. I had no idea the label was so lucrative, and they only have 12 employees.
MM on blogging. So true! We should get a "We Hate Blogging About Blogs who Blog About Blogs" super-ironic trucker hat. Also from MM: Interpol in Rolling Stone.
You can download almost every entire Brian Jonestown Massacre album here. I recommend Take It From The Man! New and newly released Frank Black Francis material [via Stereogum]. Dirty on Purpose tracks at Music (For Robots); also, Panda Bear and RJD2. Les Georges Leningrad at Fluxblog; Special Needs track on Talkie Walkie.
I'm pissed about this. Liars cancel tour with Blonde Redhead. Also, according to Pitchfork, Liars played Siren Fest this year. I wish.
The Secret Machines are writing new tracks on tour; info on new Weezer album; Franz Ferdinand working with Dan "The Automator" on next album; The Futureheads to return to U.S. for tour in November.
