"I Bet It Stung" - Tegan & Sara
This is one of those songs that you can't believe they give away for free on the internet.
Tegan & Sara are twin sisters from Canada, and I had never heard of them until their latest record,
So Jealous. I'm not big into "indie-pop" as you already know, but this record... you really need to hear it. It was on repeat at a party I was at on Saturday, and no one seemed to mind when it came on for the third time. This isn't just indie-pop, this is indie-pop distilled to its purest, most addictive form. The drums snap perfectly, the guitars are huge when they need to be with synths reenforcing the song in the background, and the harmonies ARE SICK DUDE! They're perfect. They cut into your memory and damnit, you just need more. This song,
"I Bet It Stung", is a bit slow, but makes up for it with a heavy, hard-hitting guitar riff, and being all-around perfect. Download it already.
Also, find and listen to my favorite song, "Speak Slow", which I put on repeat for 17 times once I got a hold of it. There are also these other songs up for download:
"I Know I Know I Know",
"Walking With A Ghost".
You can also check out Tegan & Sara's
playlist they did for last week's
New York Times.

there first album was really addictive and then i bought the second and thought they rolled over and died. i notice itunes doesn't even have the first album. i read an interview with them recently and they seem headed on a better path. they have been favorites amongst us dykes for a while now and i am glad they are making less sucky music now. i had no intention of buying this album but i am gonna take your word for it. these girls are sisters, i just think that's crazy.
