XMAS PARTAY

"Misfit (Remix)", by Elefant. I had been looking for a while to see how this was going to be released. It's the version of the song they use for the video, and it's quite different than the original. Luckily, the record company is giving it away for free. It's fun to compare the two releases. The first one was a lot lighter, so when they add Interpol-esque guitars and a driving drum beat to the chorus, it still sounds like the vocals are floating and makes for reall interesting contrast.

"Christmas Party", by The Walkmen. Pitchfork liked it.

TTIKTDA posted "Naive Melody (This Must Be The Place)", played by The Arcade Fire in their CBC studio session.

Bright Eyes is planning a separate tour for each of his albums. One will be mostly solo, one will have the Faint as openers and Oberst's backing band. Too bad the Faint left a bad taste in my mouth after their last concert.

The Postal Service are releasing a new track on an EP for "We Will Become Sihlouettes".

Catbirdseat points out the tracklisting for the forthcoming ENON compilation, plus a few video links.

Jonny Greenwood and Jarvis Cocker are going to be in the next Harry Potter movie. Why?

Craig Nicholls diagnosed with autism; The Vines will not break up.

Jack White climbs on stage, plays with Brendan Benson.

New York Times rundown:

Record labels are finally starting to use digital music sales.

Sanneh reviews Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg new releases.

American versions of Beatles albums are getting rereleased. I don't know the full details, but I'm pretty sure this is kind of stupid.

Rock/pop listings. Sanneh says the Hives' raise expectations too high, and then writes about the Tacking Back Sunday concert in a positive light. Not cool.

I think I have a bunch of other stuff to talk about. I forget what. Later.
