ROUND-UP: "THEY'RE SO GOOD!"

Grizzly Bear plays the Uptown Bar this Tuesday, late show. Should be good.

Pete Doherty's run-ins with the law and his current band Babyshambles are dissected in the Times this week. Worth a read, if only to get a few of the details straight. The writer seems rather certain that The Libertines are finished.
"I know fans of the Libertines," said Anthony Thornton, the reviews editor of the New Musical Express, "who saw Babyshambles live and started crying. And when I asked them why, they said, 'Because they are so good,' and that meant the Libertines were really finished." (Which, as they recently announced, they indeed are.)
You can stream the entire new album from my favorite band The Kills, No Wow, at this mini-site. There are also two live videos of the band, as well as some photos. Necessary. It's out this Tuesday in the UK, March for the US. More Kills news here.

Download the full version of Blues Explosion's "Mars, Arizona (DFA Remix)" from Fluxblog. Hot shit. More DFA news here.

Basement Jaxx, who won the first Grammy for best electronic/dance album rightfully so with Kish Kash, are looking for a new US label. XL will internationally release their singles/rarities collection, The Singles, as well as The Videos DVD, in March.

BRMC has found a label in the UK, but is still shopping around in the US. Their next album is tentatively [and horribly] titled Americana LP.

Pitchfork had an in-depth interview with the Arcade Fire last week. There's a lot of good information in the interview, but I could do without Ryan Schreiber's moaning, bitching, and bragging. You can see a bizarre clip of the band performing "Wake Up" on the kids internet TV show/DVD Pancake Mountain here.

From Calvin, info on the new Gorillaz album, Demon Days. E-card here. Seeing the band live a few years ago proved to be a huge mistake, but I will give them another chance based on the strength of their first record.

Robot Chicken tonight was the funniest thing I've seen in a really long time. Me and three of my friends were all literally rolling on the floor laughing.

I'm not misleading people. If anything, the bands are. I'm only reporting what I find at different sources.
