Thanks to a new feature recently implemented at Audioscrobbler (weekly lists, something I've wanted for a long time) I'm trying out a weekly feature on the site: Top 5 tracks. Hopefully it'll help me stay on top of music I want to talk about. We'll see how it goes, because some weeks I listen to primarily one artist and the chart would end up being pretty boring. Anyways, I highly recommend seeking out these songs however you can. I will provide links where appropriate. Also, expect more photos, as Hello from Google makes resizing really easy.
5. Soulwax - "E Talking (Radio Edit)"
Soulwax was formed by Belgian brothers. They are also 2 Many DJs, who do the Radio Soulwax series. They do a ton of remixes, too. The whole thing is really confusing. Discogs.com really helps clarify things. Anyway, this song is like a DFA produced Primal Scream, or something. Definitely check out the video. Go to their overly simplistic website and view it, the whole thing. It's an A-Z drug reference, it's hilarious, and "Z" is the best one.
4. Munk - "Kick Out The Chairs"
I know next to nothing about this group, except that it's made up of two guys named Mathias Modica and Jonas Imbery. It's by luck that I found this single, which is bizarre, because it features James Murphy and Nancy Whang of DFA and lcd soundsystem fame. It's only been released on 12" but you can find it if you look hard enough on P2Ps. It's driven by a huge bass-line melody for most of the song, except for the quick, refreshing bridge. The production is crisp and a fantastic driving force for Murphy and Wang to spew out "motherfuckers" repeatedly. Must-find.3. lcd soundsystem - "Daft Punk is Playing at My House (Soulwax Shibuya Remix)"
EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED! First I talked about Soulwax, then I talked about a song featuring James Murphy; now this has both! The kind folks at DFA send me this 12", and it's great. The original is kick-ass, but this doesn't put it all up front at once. In Soulwax style, it builds and builds to a few releases that are pure dance joy. Also, the would-be-trite sound effects really work: sirens come in when he mentions the cops, robots really DO descend from the bus. Plus, cowbells with echo! Watch the video for the original at lcd's site; otherwise, track down the 12" or CDS.2. Kelly Clarkson - "Since U Been Gone"
I have proudly never seen a single episode of American Idol. This song is amazing. I credit clap clap blog with addicting me. Watch the video in iTunes here.1. Johnny Boy - "You Are The Generation Who Bought More Shoes and You Get What You Deserve"
You like? Don't like? Don't care? Leave a comment, if you want.I can't find any information on this band on the web, at all. The band is apparently finishing up an album. Johnny Marr really likes this song. I listened to it A LOT last week. It's streaming underneath the turntable, on the left. Enjoy.

I read that it was produced by James Dean Bradford. (He of Manic Street Preachers)
Yep ! About Munk, you should try two remix versions, really different ... I just can't remember the name, but you'll find it easily...
Anyway, you've just been linked !
