About a week ago, a few of my friends and I stumbled upon a brilliant fact that is going to start changing lives across the world. Much in the classic way that Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon was rumored to sync up bizarrely and perfectly to The Wizard of Oz, we found out that Daft Punk's Homework was designed to sync up perfectly with The Transformers: The Movie.
I don't make this statement in jest. They really do sync up. At its worst moments, the robot-flying seems to echo swooping synths. At its best moments, all of the transformers move in time to the music, while the characters mouth the words to all the vocal samples. You're pretty much good to go if you start the CD and DVD at the same time (the DVD on mute). If you want to definitely get a good match-up, time it so the track "Teachers" aligns with the part in the movie where the transformers teach the single human character, some punk kid, how to operate his new robot body/car. You're good to go from there, and the album and movie should end at the same time. Fucking unreal. Tell your friends.
Also, I made another discovery with regards to my post yesterday on Death From Above 1979's latest single "Black History Month". The cover of Bloc Party's "Luno" is not the only b-side. It turns out that on one of the seven inch singles, there is a remix of the track by none other than French house geniuses Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, the duo responsible for last year's brilliant "Rubicon" single (as well as a lot of other hot shit). My pal Mattie has put it up on his mp3 blog, so you can download it from here. He also posted a couple of tracks from the Deluxe Edition of DJ Shadow's Endtroducing.... Unfortunately, the single is only available in the UK (or maybe import somewhere, I don't know). You can buy it from here.
