This year's RS bands to watch actually has a band to watch: Bonde de Role. (We've already watched TV on the Radio; it was good.) This shit is like Brazillian Beasties on crack. Mad decent.
More anticipation for the Rapture. I think this implies that Phones and Ewan Pearson worked together on this. The Dangermouse tracks sound like they're gonna be crazy.

god, i can't remember the names of the bands, but i came across some congolese and nigerian baile funk a couple months ago that was fantastic. the politcal and cultural influence of fela kuti (uh, and imperialism) does not go unnoticed! afrobeat-ology in the house.
