With forthcoming albums from The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk, dance music is getting some more media attention. The Times dissects what's going on with the genre, which gets hyped up again every few years here in the states, but never manages to break through.
You can download two tracks [if the links still work] from Daft Punk's Human After All here. They really rock.
I've been trying to learn about dance music in the last month or so [I'm listening to Ada's Blondie right now]. You can expect some posts skewed in that direction eventually.
The producer of the OC gets a playlist in the Times, and talks about the new Beck album and Nirvana box set. Huh.
The Hold Steady gets written up. I've added their two upcoming mpls dates to the calendar.
British Sea Power are coming out with a new album. 2003's The Decline Of... was a great album.
Basement Jaxx are coming out with a new single for their singles compilation.
Details about New Order's next album are coming out. A biopic for Ian Curtis is in the works.
Ikara Colt broke up.
Electric Six's next album is called Senor Smoke. I actually have it, but I'm really not sure why; I don't plan on listening to it anytime soon. SL can't spell, and smells.
